We are currently preparing material for our upcoming EP, which we are hoping will be completed
sometime in november. This will be a four track cd, and tracklisting included (not in order)
Blackened Skies
Weakness in Numbers
To Run with the Darkness..
As Dusk Covers Day
Currently we have no shows booked so that we can put everything we can
into these songs, but we hope to play a gig or two before going into
the studio to try out the songs live. Keep checking the gigs page, Thanks!
(25 - 8 - 04)
Just finished playing our 2 gigs in one night on the 21st - and the
theme of the night was 'whatever can go wrong.....'. Broken strings,
blown cabinets, feedback, leads falling out, etc. etc. etc. - but with
help from other bands, good mates and a good crowd (especially the dan
oconnell one!) - the night was still a shitload of fun. Billion thanks
to Aidan for the drums, Stu, Adrian, Lord Shutz, Dave and Mark from
Cage of Serenity, Mike from Desolator, Morgue, Nikki and Jeda of FIAB
and of course everyone else ive forgotten who helped us out.
To Lucy also who took photos, hopefully we'll have a few up soon,
its been a while since we've last put some photos up.
We are currently not booked for any shows but are planning to record
our second EP within the next 2 - 3 months, so check back here for updates
and pics hopefully.
(10 - 8 - 04)
Had our Pith and Vinegar gig last Sunday, thanks heaps to
Morgan for putting it on. Hope the sucess means more shows
by him in the future. We debutted two new songs also on
the night: 'Weakness in Numbers' & 'To Run with the Darkness...'.
Both were received well by the cool crowd there on the night.
Easily the best one we've played to at the Arthouse so far. Lot
of gear was swapped around, so thanx to everyone that helped us out.
There was an issue which put a serious damper on the night for us:
Daves bag containing a Boss Metalzone and a bunch of leads went missing.
We have been hoping that it might have been a simple missunderstanding
but as time goes by this is harder to beleive. What this means for us
is that we lost a shitload of money in order to play the gig - if it
was in fact a theft then its a pretty fucked up and spineless thing
to do. We work hard enough to keep this band going without having to
deal with wankers - if anyones got any info on the incident we'd
really appreciate hearing it. Dave played a great set regardless:
hopefully it was just a fuckup and someone grabbed the wrong bag on the way out.
But anyway, thanks again to Morgan & Pith Records for putting the
night on, and everyone who showed up to make it a sucess - all
together there were 94 people through the door - excellent for
a Sunday night. Coming up on Saturday the 21st we have 2 gigs
in one night, an all ages & an overage one. Check the gigs page
for full details! Till then, catchya.
(28 - 6 - 04)
Despite the fact that we only had a 15 minute set last Saturday,
the McLeod Battle of the Bands was probably the most enjoyable
gig we've played so far - owing no small part to the wicked
audience that made us feel very welcome. We ended up winning also,
which has landed us some free recording time. We have a fair bit
of new material at the moment, so our second EP shouldnt be too
far away hopefully. Well done to Waiting for Luke also for playing a cool
set on the night. So anyway, thanks heaps to Aidan & Erik of Tailgate, for
helping us out with drum gear & Morgan and FIAB for setting us up with the gig.
On a related note, the FIAB all ages metal gig that was cancelled due to lack of
funding has been put back on, and is looking to be held at around August if all
goes to plan. Check back here for details. We have an overage show on Friday
the 16th of July at the Barleycorn again also. Hope to see yas there...
(7 - 6 - 04)
Played our gig at the Barley Corn the other week, with Legion and The Catwalk Syndrome.
Had a great time and thanks to everyone who made it out on the Thursday nite.
And too Roo Phil and Stu of Catwalk for the JCM 2000, Drumkit and Bass Amp.
Due to a fairly good turnout we have 2 more Friday night gigs there...See gigs
page for full details
(27 - 5 - 04)
Just a reminder that we have a gig this upcoming thursday at the BarleyCorn hotel,
with the Catwalk Syndrome (Who have just recorded an EP) and another TBA.
Also, we have been put on the bill for the McLeod YMCA Battle of the Bands,
which will be featuring Frankenbok and a special guest who is yet to be
announced. This will be an all ages show. Hope to see yas there!
(14 - 5 - 04)
Played our second gig at the Arthouse last night, great shows by Befallen
(who filled in last minute for Steel Afflction, who fell ill before the gig),
Bowel Mouth & Omnium Gatherum. Things went a lot smoother for us than our
last show, which was good. Thanks to everyone that came along early, and special
thanks to Eric for the kit, Johnny Monster for taking photos, Stu of the Catwalk
Syndrome for the bass amp & Adrian for mixing for us again (You can catch him on
0422 588 326). Hope to see yas at our next show, which will be at the Barley Corn
Hotel on the 3rd of June!
(20 - 4 - 04)
Played the gig at the Arthouse last Wednesday, thanx to everyone who showed up, we
had a shitload of fun . Despite a few technical difficulties with the mix, and the
broken low e on the bass (Ben Smash!!!) my guitar lead falling out, we played to a
good crowd who were pretty into it. We also played a new song, called "Blackened Skies"
which will be a regular at our shows from now on.
My fave band on the night were Annihilism, wicked old school thrash :) They did a nice
sepultura medley too, Thanks again for getting us the gig guys, we'll play again soon!.
Cool sets by HerNightmare and Death Fell Still too. Big thanx to Stu for the bass amp,
Shae for the Photos and Adrian for the mixing!
If all goes to plan we should have a fair gigs booked for May, although these
are still in the works. Cyas soon
(25 - 3 - 04)
Some bad news firstly. 2 of our 3 April gigs have been cancelled, leaving only
the one on the 14th. Should still be a ripper, but the reasons are as follows.
The one that was on the 7th fell through because the same band can't play at the
arthouse 2 weeks in a row, us and Annihilism were booked too, so they had to drop
one of the shows. The YMCA gig has been cancelled due to a lack of funds at FIAB.
However I am told that this is only postponed and SHOULD be rescheduled for the month
of August, so were crossing our fingers.
Not to worry however, hopefully you can come and see us on the 14th at the Arthouse,
where we should be playing 1 if not 2 new tracks. Hope to see ya there.
In other news, you may have noticed a complete redesign of the website, all the old
content is still there however, and we are currently updating the images and links
pages. Thanks to everyone who has regularly visited here in the past, hope you continue to do so.
See you on the 14th!
(12 - 3 - 04)
The gigs are flowing for the month of April, we have 2 new ones to announce. Firstly, Wednesday
the 7th of April at the Arthouse. Over 18 gig featuring Annihilism, Psilence and In Malice's Wake.
Secondly, Wednesday the 14th of April, also at the Arthouse. Also an over 18s gig, this one
features Annihilism, Death Fell Still, Herrnightmare and In Malice's Wake. Costs and playing
times for both these shows are TBA. Thanks to Ev of Annihilism for hooking us up with these shows.
Hope to see yas there!
(10 - 3 - 04)
Theres been a few amendments to the lineup of the gig on the 24th of April. It now consists
of Earth, Alarum, Bowel Mouth, Abrasion, Embodied, Befallen, In Malice's Wake, Detox & Mr. Brutal.
There are still a couple still to be confirmed, but even at this stage this is looking to be
one solid gig. Flyers are currently being made up, and the cover charge is 8 bucks, or 7 with
a flyer. The gig will begin at about 6. Check back here for updates! Thanks.
(26 - 2 - 04)
We have a gig to announce! Saturday the 24th of April, we have a confirmed spot in a show
including Fuck...Im Dead and Bowel Mouth (As well as a few special guests currently in
negotiations - Check back for updates). This will be an ALL AGES show, over 18s included.
It will be at the McLeod YMCA and is being organised by FIAB (Thanks heaps to Nikki and
Jeda of Shatterproof for scoring us this spot). Times and prices are yet to be announced
(Although a cover charge of approx 10 bucks is likely). We plan to have 2 - 3 new songs
to play during this set, as well as a couple more cd's to give away, so come along for
a great night of metal. Hope to see yas all there.
There is a good possibility of a gig or two before then also, they will be announced here.
Til then, cya
(7 - 2 - 04)
Played a small gig last night at a friends 21st, big happy bday to JP (whos been with the
band since our first gig and a mate long before that). A great night was had by all, with
gnarly sets by Tailgate, Shatterproof and James Farina. We were forced to play minus Dave
however, which defenintly felt like something was missing, but Dave is returning on the
15th, and we have some big plans for gigs in the very near future. Gigs will be posted
well in advance, so check this space for updates. See yas soon
(19 - 1 - 04)
Copies of our demo are now available for purchase at Metal Mayhem (Vault 5 Banana Alley,
371 Flinders St. Melbourne) for $8.50. We also have copies of them available for $5 at all
of our shows. Speaking of shows, things have been a little quiet during january, due to
the fact that Dave has been away, but we have been very busy - working on new material
etc. We have plans to play a few shows at about mid Feb, so keep checking this page for
updates. Til then, cya later.
(17 - 12 - 03)
Sorry about the late notice, but it turns out we are appearing on Syn TV from 4 - 5
2morrow. This is broadcast on Channel 31 and simulcast on 90.7 syn fm. The show, hosted by
Legion's Luke & Nicole is running for quite a few weeks and features Earth 2morrow also.
Thanks to Luke and Nicole. Hope yas can catch it.
(15 - 12 - 03)
Just arrived back from the massive weekend that Dave's 21st / gig has been, and it was totally
insane - One of the weekends of the year for all of us, and not just in terms of the gig. The
show we played was on the friday night at the retro bar in Mildura (having bands there on a
friday night was a first apparently, but there is a push to get it happening more often, which
is cool). First band on was stranger, who i quite enjoyed, especially that harmonica song :)
Up second was our set, and we had a great time. At certain stages there were quite a few
headbangers whipping out windmills too - including the guys from Exile, who were playing
after us. We really got into these guys, they are the local metal band, and had great
hooks, detuned guitars and killer solos (If any of you guys are reading this, let us know
if you have a website!). And headlining of course were the Catwalk Syndrome, Dave's other
band. They played a wicked set of great dirty rock, and they were as loud as fuck! Everyone
loved the set. We got paid in beer, so by this stage we were totally gone, and in the
end it was one of the funnest nights we'd had in a while! The next night was Dave's
21st party, and we did play a few songs there also. Great party it was, and it topped
of a great weekend which was nicknamed 'the weekend of decadence'. Happy 21st Dave.
Anyway, the band has a huge list of thanks to the people who made the weekend possible, so if
you can be bothered read on (sorry to anyone ive forgotten - just remind me hey?)
So here it goes: Cass for organising the whole thing, and making it possible - You rule. Clint,
Leese, Cass and Dave's mum for putting us up while we were there and showing us a great time
(Clint and Leese know how to throw a party like no other!). Also to Clint for helping us
with the mix, apparently this is the best sound we've had at a gig, so we appreciate that
big time - and also for lending us the drumkit, thanks a million. The guys from Exile, for
lending us those wicked guitar and bass amps, and playing a great set with us. Alison and
the Retro bar, for hosting the gig. Trinny, Azza and Thommo for helping us get there and
back - and Trinny for the nudie run as well hehehe. Rach for taking photos - should have a
few to put up soon hopefully. Stranger and Catwalk for making the gig night a great one. And
of course to everyone who made it out the the gig, and rocking out with us - hope yas enjoyed
it as much as we did. These are only the thanks in regards to the band, theres heaps of personal
ones for the whole weekend are not here . . but thanks anway!
So that just about wraps things up - if anyone that was at the gig missed it - we have a mailing
list which you can use for updates. To get on it just send an email to mrdudeface@hotmail.com.
At the present we have no gigs booked, but this should change very shortly, and we plan to do
many shows over the summer. We also have plenty of demo's which you can get for 5 bucks plus
postage and handling. See you shortly.
(7 - 12 - 03)
What a night! The More Metal for the Masses II has come and gone, and a great time was had by
all. All the bands were awesome last night, and Psycroptic were absolutely jaw dropping! In
regards to our gig, i think it went fairly well, it was definently the most fun one we've
played, largely due to the killer crowd present, especially the dudes in the front row. Just
want to a few massive thankyous firstly to all the people who came along, was a great turnout,
George & Melbourne Metal Music for putting the show on, Luke and Legion for helping us get the
spot, Dave for lending us the amp, Zowie for lending us her amp, Freeza, Adrian for mixing for us
(did a great job mate), Justin for the drinks at his joint and Alex from atrophy for drinking em
with us ;), Lord Shutz & JP for doing the camera for us, Mark from Derisory for the double kicks
(Great set too guys!), all the other bands for making the night such a memorable one and of course
to Psycroptic for coming all the way down from Tassie & brutalising the Civic Centre.
As those present last night know, we have recorded a 5 track demo. Recorded by the Ben-meister
himself at SAE studions, it has come out quite well. If you are after a copy they are 5 bucks
(+ postage if you want one sent, otherwise just buy one at a gig).
We do have another gig this friday, at the retro bar in Mildura, - featuring local metal band
exile, Stranger and The Catwalk Syndrome. Kicks off at 10pm, should be a great night.
And lastly, i did forget to mention our mailing list on stage yesterday, if you want to be a
part of it, just send an email to mrdudeface@hotmail.com. We do use it very regularly, pretty
much whenever the site is updated. Thats pretty much it for now, Thanks again for all the
metalheads who showed last nite, It was great to see so many black t-shirts in Reservoir.
Till next time.
(14 - 11 - 03)
Busy month this one. More Metal For the Masses II details have been confirmed, and a flyer
is up. The line up has been altered slightly, it now consists of Psycroptic, Abrasion,
Bowel Mouth, Befallen, Legion, In Malice's Wake and Derisory. There is an official flyer
up now, it is on the gigs page and contains complete details regarding the gig. This is
an all ages show, meaning everyone can check it out. This will be a great show.
For those up to a trip, we are playing at a nightclub in Mildura (forget the name, will be
up very shortly, on the 12th of December). Also playing are The Catwalk Syndrome and two
other bands. Sorry about the incomplete details, these will be updated soon.
Also, we have an ugly new guestbook up as a temp solution to the demise of the last :( Feel
free to fill it up again. Whilst on the topic of the website, Dave's bio has finally been
put up, so check it out. Were working on getting a better picture of him too.
And lastly but by no means least, we were in the SAE recording studio (courtesy of Ben)
laying down the drum tracks to our first ever proper recording!! The plan is to have a
sampler of this recording done to pass around at the MMFTMII gig, if all goes to plan.
We laid down the drums to five songs today and it is sounding very wicked. Should be
complete within the next 3 weeks. So it has been a busy month, we hope to catch up with all of
you soon!
(29 - 10 - 03)
Huge news to report. We have secured a position on "More Metal for the Masses II",
This killer gig is headlined by Tasmania's death metal giants psycroptic, and also features
Earth, Abrasion, Bowel Mouth, Legion and Derisory. It will be an all ages show, taking place
on the 6th of December at the Reservoir Civic Centre. Brought to you by Melbourne Metal Music
. Hope to see yas there, this will be an awesome gig!
Stay tuned for entry fee and times etc.
Massive thanks to Legion (who played an awesome show Last weekend) for getting us the
spot.
(28 - 9 - 03)
We've got a forum up on the page now :) (thanks to bennie boy!), so if anyone wants to
they can create an account and post messages and stuff or whatever. If u wanna check it
out, click here (I would recommend right clicking the link and selecting Open in New
Window -- working on fixing this)
(20 - 9 - 03)
We played gig # 6 today at the Preston town hall. Perhaps the biggest news of all is the
addition of a new member to our line-up, new guitarist Dave! Dave played todays gig with
us after learning the songs last night :) and a damn fine job he did too! So we are looking
forward to a cool future with the new more complete sound Dave has brought with him. His
bio will be up soon. Huge thanx to everyone who came along to the gig, I'd say todays
crowd response may have been the best yet, so thanx for making the gig that bit more
special.
A massive well done to Legion who were nothing short of brilliant, be sure to catch them
supporting Mystic Circle in early October (check their site for details). And of course
a HUGE thankyou to their drummer, Millein, who lent us their kit in the last minute and
saving our asses from certain doom!! And to Justin, for video taping the gig for us, im
gonna try and put a few small clips of the gig up for download on the site soon, so look
out for it.
At present we have no gigs booked, and the time will give us the opportunity to tune the
set a little more, so we should have another one booked soon! If your not already on the
mailing list, sign up by sending an email to mrdudeface@hotmail.com. Til then, cyas all
later!
(13 - 9 - 03)

We played the Reservoir Battle of the Bands yesterday, and whilst we unfortunatly didnt score
a place, we defininetly had a great time with our half hour set. Stunning performance from
Legion, who deservedly went on to win. Another highlight was Notherealm, who played a great
set. Thanks to everyone that came along, and Pete for the kick pedals!!
At the moment we have no gigs booked, however this will change very shortly. As always check
the gigs page to see whats happening!
(26 - 8 - 03)

a great night, thankyou so much to all those who came to see us first on at 6 :) You guys rule.

(18 - 8 - 03)
Well we've just arrived home from playing the uni battle of the bands, which went quite well.

Easily one of the best on the nite!
In other news, we have just received a call and are CONFIRMED for this battle of the bands gig
on the 30th in reservoir. Details can be found on the gigs page, hope to see you there.
(13 - 8 - 03)

Monday the 18th of August, which is this monday coming! It is the National Campus Band
Competetion, and is being held at the Eagle Bar at Latrobe University Bundoora. We have the

will take place on the 30th. We do not yet have a confirmed spot, but it is likely that we
will very shortly. Full details will be posted once things are confirmed as always.
(18 - 7 - 03)
We have just completed our second gig at the Barley Corn last night! We had a great time playing
our seven song set, and seeing as though many of them had never been played before, or written the
week before, there were plenty of stuff ups in the set. People didnt seem to notice however, and
we were told that this gig was a fair bit better than last weeks, which was great to hear. It was
great to hear Clagg's set, they had some great tracks. Check them out on their website at http://clagg.live.com.au
Once again thanks to everyone who took the effort to make it down. SPECIAL THANKS for last night to Erik
for the kit (again), JP for being a force to be reckoned with at the door! James for doing the mp3
recording for us off the mixing desk! Steve for help with the transport, Pete for the double kicks
again, Shuzt, for camera shots and Aidan for Video!
(11 - 7 - 03)
Well it has come and gone, our first gig is finally behind us! We had a great night last night playing
four of our songs at the Central Club, and whilst we didnt win the battle of the bands, it proved to
be a great introduction to our live playing, and should now go into next weeks "bigger"
gig a lot more confident. There were stacks of stuff ups, which we expected, hope they werent
too noticable for the people there, although watching the video, they probably were :). A HUGE
thanks to all the people who made it last nite (you may have even gotten into the images page,
hehe). We really appreciate the support!
SPECIAL THANKS for last night to Aidan and Erik Furlan from Tailgate - for supplying us with the
tama kit that made the gig possible, Shutzy - our director of photography, for the great shots he
took during the set Steve from Anarion - for bringing those spare leads, Pete from Lucid Falls -
for supplying us with his double kick pedals And of course Nikki, for shooting the gnarly video
for us and bringing a spare bass just in case!! All of our mates that made the effort to come
see our first gig, thanks a lot!
(4 - 7 - 03)
We have secured another gig for the Thursday 10th of July! This is a battle of the bands, in
which we get to play 4 of our songs. It is at the Central Club in Richmond (293 Swan St. Richmond),
and bands begin at 7pm. It would be great to see some support there. Dont forget also, send an email
to mrdudeface@hotmail.com if you wish to join our mailing list, and we'll automatically update you
with gig info. Thanks a lot.
(29 - 6 - 03)
We have finally scored our first gig! At the Barley Corn on the 17th of July (177 Johnston St
Collingwood), Bands start at 8pm, and include SC & SV, and Clagg. We have a 50 minute set
beginning at 10:30. If there any queries regarding the gig, please contact the band at
mrdudeface@hotmail.com. To view the flyer click here. It would be great if everyone
could make it to our first ever show, which we are now hard at work preparing for.
Hope to see you there
(26 - 5 - 03)
Just a quick one, i am starting to compile a MAILING LIST, so if you want all the latest
gig news and all other important shit in regards to our band, just send me an email at
mrdudeface@hotmail.com and ill add you on. This will be for bigger news however, not
for small niggly things. So get in touch. Thanx
(24 - 5 - 03)
Hey guys, just letting yas all know that a guestbook is up. Its not gonna be permanent,
but im sick of getting frustrated with this net programming shit, so for now this free
one is a patch up solution. Its got a couple things i should mention about it though, make
sure you enter the text that is the same as the generated image otherwise it won't work,
and do NOT under any circumstances click the "Back to In Malice's Wake" link. This
will make a fullscreen version of this site that you can never EVER escape from!! (
sorry, just watched "Cube", and im a little excited...really you can just ALT+F4 to get
out). Im gonna try and put a free counter in too, when I figure out how to do these myself,
ill change it all. But ill still keep whatever entries have gona into the book. thanks
(23 - 5 - 03)
Got a couple of things to mention. Firstly, the site is now up, as you obviously know, and
will be updated on a nightly basis if there is anything to report. Im working on getting a
guestbook active so you guys can let us know you stopped in.
More importantly however, i have just picked up a application form for the NCBC(National
Campus Band Competition) 2003, so we will be filling this out asap and getting it in.
There are no dates on this sheet as such, but im certain it will be around late june to
early july. As soon as I know you will. We do not intend for this to be our first gig,
and we will be organising a smaller one beforehand. Once again stay tuned for all the details.
Well that was the first news entry...hope it was worth the wait...although i don't think
anyone knows we're up yet :) Thanks anyway, Shaun.
